For the last 38 years in France, the 21st June has not been just the longest day of the year, but has also been the day to commemorate the Fête de la Musique (FDM). Globally known as World Music Day, Fête de la Musique was born in France in 1982, and has since been embraced by countries all over the world where people have gathered over a shared love for music.
Today, FDM is celebrated with unbridled joy and enthusiasm in more than a 1000 cities around the world. To bring a slice of FDM home, boxout.fm, in collaboration with the French Embassy, the Alliance Francaise Network, and Institut Francais in India, brings its listeners in India and the world over the world a very special Fête de la Musique web radio project.
For two weeks beginning June 7, 2021 and with a flagship, main event taking place on the weekend of June 19-21, boxout.fm will present a tailored musical program comprising DJ mixes, podcasts, interviews, radio exchanges and community playlists that will serve as joint celebration of the musical relationship between France and India.
